VKA Founder Association For Those Designing Their Own System

Members

Members who wish to become a Founder (Soke) of your own martial arts system, and be recognized by VKA must meet the following requirements:

1. Founder must currently hold a 5th Dan or higher in a style. Proof of ranking must be provided.
2. An essay explaining your system. This essay should include details about your system, why you feel this system is new or unique, belt ranking criteria. It should also include biographical information, including a martial arts resume and experience.
3. A video tape (CD, or DVD) of you performing the techniques, kata, weapons kata or other elements of your style.
4. A written list to accompany the tape, explaining the techniques, technique applications, and details of your kata and advancement system through black belt.
5. Please provide a copy of all certificates you have earned in your previous style(s) as well as information on your prior instructors for verification purposes.

The VKA Board will review your material and determine if VKA recognition is warranted.

System Review Fee: $100.00

If approved, you will receive two certificates. One certificate will recognize you as the Founder (Soke) of your system and the other will recognize your rank in this new style.

You and your system will be listed on our website, along with contact information (including e-mail and web address, if applicable). You will also receive a membership in VKA.

If your system is NOT approved, you will receive a full refund of your review fees.
